The Health Assurance team develops, validates, and implements health solutions for risk assessment, biosecurity, surveillance and disease elimination. We collaborate with universities and other pioneering organizations to continuously review and update our practices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The three principles of our health assurance program are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul type=\"1\">\n<li><strong>Comprehensive health surveillance:<\/strong> Real-time integration of clinical, production and diagnostic data to make informed decisions and the implementation of innovative and validated technologies to collect and test diagnostic samples.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Commitment to animal welfare: <\/strong>Conduct continuous training of animal caretakers and proactive scientific evaluation of farm practices.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Science-based biosecurity: <\/strong>We conduct systematic risk assessments in farms, feed mills and truck washes. Based on those assessments, we design and implement comprehensive plans to mitigate risks. We collaborate with multiple organizations to develop tools and guidelines to minimize disease introduction.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>These principles and our industry collaboration drove the development of the <a href=\"https:\/\/genus-develop.go-vip.co\/pic\/resources\/biosecurity-standards\/\">BioShield\u2122 biosecurity program<\/a>.
