{"id":2551,"date":"2021-07-12T15:40:22","date_gmt":"2021-07-12T14:40:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/genus-develop.go-vip.co\/pic-gb\/?p=2551"},"modified":"2021-11-02T12:28:16","modified_gmt":"2021-11-02T12:28:16","slug":"fertiboar-technology-awarded-in-the-space-2021-innovation-competition","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/genus-develop.go-vip.co\/pic-gb\/2021\/07\/12\/fertiboar-technology-awarded-in-the-space-2021-innovation-competition\/","title":{"rendered":"Fertiboar technology, awarded in the SPACE 2021 innovation competition."},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">The Innov\u2019Space Awards are a benchmark in the French market and have a great international impact, given the large number of candidates competing in each edition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">The Fertiboar technology, developed by PIC in collaboration with the IFN (Institute for Reproduction of Farm Animals, Sch\u00f6now) in a 4-year project, was recently presented and submitted as an award candidate because it represents a major innovation in the research for greater efficiency in the use of boars with high genetic value.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright size-large is-resized\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"854\" src=\"https:\/\/genus-develop.go-vip.co\/pic-gb\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2021\/07\/Fertiboar_pic04_UltrasoundAnimal.jpg?resize=1024%2C854\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2553\" width=\"1024\" srcset=\"https:\/\/genus-develop.go-vip.co\/pic-gb\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2021\/07\/Fertiboar_pic04_UltrasoundAnimal.jpg?w=1240 1240w, https:\/\/genus-develop.go-vip.co\/pic-gb\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2021\/07\/Fertiboar_pic04_UltrasoundAnimal.jpg?w=300 300w, https:\/\/genus-develop.go-vip.co\/pic-gb\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2021\/07\/Fertiboar_pic04_UltrasoundAnimal.jpg?w=768 768w, https:\/\/genus-develop.go-vip.co\/pic-gb\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2021\/07\/Fertiboar_pic04_UltrasoundAnimal.jpg?w=1024 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">This technology that combines the application of ultrasound in live animals, digital image analysis, specific development of algorithms and artificial intelligence techniques, is nowadays a reality and provides greater precision and efficiency in the use of boars by genetic transfer centres (boar studs), while benefits pig producers in general with general improvement in semen quality and greater security in the supply of boars with the highest genetic potential.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">In addition, it will provide great value in the relationships between insemination centres and their genetic supplier, since immature boars delivered to genetic transfer centres will have a high probability of meeting the quality standards to be used for insemination and thus, helping to the dissemination of desirable characteristics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">The automation of the complete analysis process allows its application on a large scale, so it will be progressively applied to the entire PIC supply chain.
