{"id":8005,"date":"2022-08-30T12:19:29","date_gmt":"2022-08-30T17:19:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/genus-develop.go-vip.co\/absglobal\/?post_type=abs_news_article&#038;p=8005"},"modified":"2022-08-30T12:19:54","modified_gmt":"2022-08-30T17:19:54","slug":"abs-global-receives-grant","status":"publish","type":"abs_news_article","link":"https:\/\/genus-develop.go-vip.co\/absglobal\/articles\/abs-global-receives-grant\/","title":{"rendered":"ABS Global receives $250,000 grant through USDA\u2019s Rural Energy for America Program"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rd.usda.gov\/programs-services\/rural-energy-america-program-renewable-energy-systems-energy-efficiency\/wi\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Rural Energy for America Program<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Solar power is helping to keep the lights on at ABS Global\u2019s Dekorra campus while also providing power to homes in the areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On Thursday, April 21, 2022, ABS Global was recognized by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development State Director of Wisconsin Julie Lassa as part of its Earth Week celebrations. This was in recognition of ABS Global\u2019s critical infrastructure improvements to strengthen energy independence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thanks in-part to a $250,000 grant through USDA\u2019s Rural Energy for America Program (REAP), ABS Global was able to purchase and install a 657 kilowatt (kW) solar array. This is all part of the effort to decrease ABS Global\u2019s carbon footprint and become carbon neutral by 2050. This solar array will save ABS nearly $61,000 in annual electrical cost savings and reduce their carbon footprint by replacing nearly 867,000 kilowatt hours (kWh) of electricity. That\u2019s enough energy to power 80 homes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The newest solar array went operational in January 2022.
